In its uniquely beautiful Cotswold setting, the College admits girls and boys (weekly boarding, boarding, and day) at ages 11, 13 and 16. The academic standard is excellent with 93% 'A' level passes and 90% A-C grades at GCSE this year. All 6th Form Leavers went on to the University of their first choice.
Founded by Noel Wills in 1920, Rendcomb is generously endowed and enjoys the continuing support of the Wills family and The Dulverton Trust. There are superb facilities; the accommodation is new and purpose built, offering single study bedrooms for every boy and girl in the 5th and 6th Forms.
Music, Art, Drama and Sport flourish. Excellent results are achieved in Art 'A' level and GCSE; Expressive Arts are available at GCSE and Performing Arts at 'AS' and 'A' level. The games fields are excellent, this year has seen the addition of an all-weather ptich. Almost all pupils represent the school at one or more sports in their age group.
Visitors are struck by the special atmosphere and spirit of Rendcomb. The style of the school is friendly and informal: everyone knows everyone else. There is close partnership with parents and a sense of caring and encouragement. The school is there for the benefit of the pupils, not the other way round; each pupil's individuality is respected, and so is hard work.
There are generous Bursaries and Scholarships at each age of entry as well as Government Assisted Places for 11 year old entrants. There are special Bursaries for children of HM Forces.
A special school bus runs daily to and from Swindon, Cheltenham and Cirencester.
Alumni - The Old Rendcombian Society has many notable members from a principal scientist for the Imperial Cancer Research Fund, to a Captain in the Royal Marines and a National Hunt Jockey to an Editor of the Financial Times.
